Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic construction team. The successful candidate will oversee cost management, budgeting, and financial control for large-scale projects, ensuring that all work is completed within budget and to the highest standards. The Senior Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for managing contractual and financial aspects, providing expert advice, and supporting project teams throughout the project lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation and management of detailed cost estimates and budgets for construction projects.
- Monitor project costs continuously, identifying potential overruns and implementing corrective measures promptly.
- Oversee procurement processes, including tendering, contract negotiations, and supplier management.
- Administer contractual claims, variations, and change orders to ensure accurate financial adjustments.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure financial objectives are met.
- Conduct risk assessments related to cost control and develop mitigation strategies.
- Prepare comprehensive reports on financial status, forecasts, and expenditure for senior management.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legal, safety, and quality standards throughout all financial activities.
- Provide guidance on contractual matters and support dispute resolution processes when necessary.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor with a strong focus on cost control within the construction or infrastructure sectors.
- Extensive knowledge of construction contracts, procurement procedures, and legal frameworks.
- Demonstrable ability to manage large budgets effectively while maintaining high standards of accuracy.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills to liaise confidently with clients, contractors, and internal teams.
- Relevant professional qualification (e.g., MRICS or equivalent) is highly desirable.

Pay: £33,299.75-£73,992.08 per year
