Part-Time / Consultancy Based Responsible Person (Import) (RPi)
We are seeking an experienced, proactive, and detail-oriented Responsible Person (Import) (RPi) to support our wholesale business with local trade, imports, and exports. This important role will help ensure all activities are carried out in compliance with MHRA requirements, Good Distribution Practice (GDP) standards, and all relevant import and customs regulations.
The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining compliant and efficient import operations, supporting quality assurance, managing documentation, and working closely with operational, quality, and logistics teams. Appointment to this role will be subject to MHRA approval and any applicable licence naming requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee all import and export compliance processes within the authorised scope.
Support local trade, import, and export activity to ensure smooth business operations.
Conduct thorough review and analysis of import documentation to verify accuracy and completeness before submission.
Maintain detailed records of import transactions, inspections, and compliance documentation for audit and inspection readiness.
Monitor and evaluate import procedures, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions where required.
Perform quality assurance checks on incoming shipments to help uphold product integrity and safety standards.
Work collaboratively with operational and quality teams to ensure ongoing compliance.
Remain contactable and available as required to support business and regulatory needs.
Requirements
Relevant science or pharmacy qualification, or equivalent experience.
Proven experience in wholesale distribution, import operations, supply chain management, quality, logistics, or regulatory work.
Strong understanding of MHRA, GDP, import controls, customs regulations, and supply chain compliance.
Knowledge of HACCP principles and their application in import or food safety contexts is desirable.
Excellent analytical skills with strong attention to detail.
Effective communication and coordination skills for working with external agencies, suppliers, and internal teams.
Ability to work independently and manage responsibilities in a fast-paced, regulated environment.
Professional body membership preferred where applicable.
