We are seeking compassionate and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistants to join our team to work with schools across London.
This role provides the opportunity to support children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), helping them achieve their full potential while gaining valuable experience across different classrooms and schools.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver tailored support for pupils with SEND, including classroom assistance and one-to-one interventions
- Support teachers in planning and delivering engaging learning activities
- Help pupils remain focused, safe, and included during lessons and group activities
- Assist with behaviour management and the implementation of personalised learning strategies
- Supervise pupils during breaktimes, lunchtimes, and educational trips
- Contribute to observations, reports, and feedback on pupil progress
What We're Looking For
Essential Requirements:
- Experience working with pupils with SEND in a school or specialist setting
- At least two professional references from schools
- At least 3 months experience working in schools
- Right to work in the UK
- DBS on the Update Service or willing to apply for one
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to supporting learning
Desirable:
- Knowledge of Makaton, PECS, or other communication strategies
