Shift Patterns & Contracts:
- Full and part time contracts are available.
- Minimum committed weekly hours is 15.
- Shifts are available from 06:30, 08:00, 12:00 and 16:00 for up to 8 hours at a time.
- All shifts are on site at one of our two Hostels in the Grassmarket.
- As this is a 7 day operation weekend work is expected.
Examples of housekeeper’s responsibilities:
- Change and make beds in between guests, adhering to high standards within a short time.
- Maintain attention to detail, ensuring all guest areas are presentable at all times.
- Sweeping, vacuuming, and mopping floors.
- Daily laundry responsibilities.
- Clean commercial buildings by emptying trash cans, servicing restrooms, and wiping down communal surfaces.
- Tackle heavy cleaning jobs & regular deep cleans when asked.
- Ensure outside walkways remain clear and free of debris.
- Notify building management of any repairs required.
- Mix and dispose of all cleaning solutions appropriately.
- Maintain excellent communication with your teammates and other departments.
Examples of housekeeper’s skills:
- Ability to handle cleaning products.
- Ability to walk, bend, push, pull and lift repetitively during working hours.
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, proper storage, and disposal methods.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as a team.
- Excellent organisational skills are a must.
- Punctual and presentable at all times.
- Self-motivation and the ability to identify and complete needed tasks without direct supervision.
- Ability to clean to high standard within tight time periods.
