Role Purpose
The Driver / Factory Operative is responsible for the safe, professional and efficient transportation of customer products, materials and company equipment whilst providing operational support across the Company's joinery manufacturing facility.
The role is accountable for ensuring all deliveries and collections are completed on time, products are transported without damage, company vehicles are maintained to a high standard, and the factory operates in a clean, organised and efficient manner.
Working closely with the Production Manager, Joinery Department, CNC Department, Veneering Department, Spray Finishing Department and Installation Teams, the post holder will assist in maintaining the continuous flow of materials and finished products throughout the manufacturing process.
The Driver / Factory Operative is expected to demonstrate professionalism, reliability and flexibility whilst supporting colleagues across all departments and contributing to the Company's commitment to quality, customer service and operational excellence.
Key Objectives
- Deliver customer products, materials and equipment safely, professionally and on time.
- Ensure all deliveries are completed without avoidable damage and in accordance with company quality standards.
- Support the continuous flow of materials and finished products throughout the factory.
- Maintain company vehicles in a clean, safe and roadworthy condition.
- Assist production teams by moving materials, preparing deliveries and supporting manufacturing operations.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping throughout the factory, warehouse and yard.
- Protect company assets by handling all products and materials with exceptional care.
- Maintain compliance with all Company Health & Safety policies and statutory requirements.
- Demonstrate reliability, professionalism and a positive attitude whilst representing the Company both on-site and at customer premises.
- Contribute to an efficient, organised and collaborative working environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete daily deliveries and collections throughout London and the surrounding areas.
- Load, secure, transport and unload products using safe handling techniques.
- Check deliveries against delivery notes and ensure all documentation is completed accurately.
- Obtain customer signatures and delivery confirmations where required.
- Report delivery issues, shortages, defects or damages immediately.
- Carry out daily vehicle inspections and report defects promptly.
- Maintain company vehicles to a clean, organised and professional standard.
- Assist with loading and unloading supplier deliveries.
- Move materials, components and finished products between departments to maintain production flow.
- Prepare products for dispatch, including packaging and protection.
- Assist Joiners, Machinists, CNC Operators, Spray Finishers and other factory personnel whenever required.
- Support installation teams with loading and preparation of vehicles.
- Maintain cleanliness throughout the workshop, warehouse, yard and loading areas.
- Sweep, vacuum and remove waste materials to maintain excellent housekeeping standards.
- Return tools, equipment and materials to their designated storage locations.
- Assist with stock movements and general warehouse duties.
- Report damaged equipment, unsafe conditions or maintenance issues immediately.
- Comply with all Company Health & Safety procedures, safe systems of work and manual handling requirements.
- Represent Painted Bespoke Joinery professionally and courteously at all customer and supplier locations.
- Carry out any other reasonable duties required to support the efficient operation of the business.
Requirements of the Role
- Minimum five years' driving experience with a full UK Driving Licence.
- Experience driving throughout London and the surrounding areas.
- Previous experience in a delivery, warehouse, factory or construction environment.
- Good understanding of safe manual handling techniques.
- Experience handling valuable products or materials carefully.
- Good understanding of Health & Safety requirements within a warehouse or manufacturing environment.

Pay: £12.71-£14.00 per hour
