Job Overview
Security Business Development Manager
Security Contracts and Client Acquisition
About Secure Security & Services Ltd
Secure Security & Services Ltd is a professional security services company providing reliable and tailored security solutions to clients across different sectors.
As part of our continued growth, we are looking for an experienced and commercially focused Security Business Development Manager to join our office-based team.
The successful candidate must have a strong background in the UK security industry, understand how security contracts are sourced and secured, and have the ability to generate genuine business opportunities for the company.
This is not a security officer or site-based guarding position. It is a business development and contract acquisition role for someone who understands the commercial side of the security industry.
Main Purpose of the Role
The main purpose of this role is to identify, approach and secure new clients and security contracts for the company.
You will work closely with our management and office team to find suitable opportunities, contact potential clients, prepare proposals, attend meetings and help convert opportunities into confirmed contracts.
Your earnings will be linked to the business and contracts you successfully bring to the company. The commission percentage or payment structure will be agreed before work begins and confirmed in writing.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Identifying new business opportunities within the security industry.
- Finding security contracts through networking, referrals, tender portals, procurement platforms, online research and direct outreach.
- Approaching potential clients by telephone, email, LinkedIn and face-to-face meetings.
- Building relationships with facilities management companies, construction companies, property managers, hotels, retail businesses, warehouses, residential developments, corporate offices and other organisations requiring security services.
- Generating qualified leads and arranging meetings with decision-makers.
- Understanding the client’s security requirements and recommending suitable services.
- Preparing professional quotations, proposals, presentations and expressions of interest.
- Assisting with tender submissions, pre-qualification questionnaires and supplier registration applications.
- Maintaining an organised pipeline of leads, opportunities, meetings, proposals and contract outcomes.
- Following up consistently with potential clients until a final decision is made.
- Negotiating commercial terms in coordination with company management.
- Supporting the onboarding and handover of newly secured clients to the operations team.
- Representing the company professionally at meetings, networking events and industry events.
- Monitoring competitors, market prices, industry developments and potential contract opportunities.
- Meeting agreed lead-generation, appointment and contract-acquisition targets.
- Providing regular progress reports to management.
- Protecting confidential company information, client information, pricing and commercial data.
Mandatory Requirements
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in the UK security industry.
- Strong understanding of security guarding services and the commercial security market.
- Previous experience in security business development, security sales, contract acquisition, account management, tendering or a closely related role.
- Proven ability to generate leads and secure new business.
- Knowledge of how security companies win contracts and build long-term client relationships.
- Understanding of client requirements for services such as manned guarding, construction-site security, retail security, corporate security, concierge security, event security, mobile patrols or keyholding.
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
- Professional telephone, email and face-to-face communication skills.
- Confidence in contacting company directors, procurement managers, facilities managers, property managers and other decision-makers.
- Ability to work independently while cooperating with the office and management team.
- Strong negotiation, presentation and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to maintain accurate records and manage a business-development pipeline.
- Good computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and online research.
- Ability to work from the company’s office during the agreed working hours.
- Honest, reliable, self-motivated and results-driven attitude.
- Legal right to work in the United Kingdom.
Applicants without security-industry knowledge or relevant business-development experience may not be considered.
Desirable Experience
The following experience would be beneficial:
- An existing network of contacts within the security, facilities management, construction, property or corporate sectors.
- Experience using tender and procurement platforms.
- Experience completing PQQs, ITTs, RFQs and security-service proposals.
- Knowledge of SIA requirements and security-industry compliance.
- Familiarity with quality and contractor-accreditation standards.
- Experience working with property management companies, construction contractors, councils, housing associations or facilities-management providers.
- Experience using CRM systems or lead-tracking software.
- A full UK driving licence.
- Experience attending networking events and client meetings.
Application Requirements
To apply, please submit an up-to-date CV together with a brief covering statement explaining:
- Your experience within the UK security industry.
- Your previous business-development or contract-acquisition experience.
- The types of security contracts you have previously worked on or secured.
- How you normally identify and approach potential clients.
- Whether you have an existing professional network.
