An opportunity has arisen at the Barnard Medical Group for a Health Care Assistant.
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our established nuring team. The successful candidate will work alongside the practice nursing team and as part of the wider multi-disciplinary team, in delivering care to the practice patient population.
The successful post holder will possess excellent communication skills, be enthusiastic, compassionate and committed to delivering the highest standard of patient care within their professional scope of practice.
Candidates must have prior experience of working with a General Practice setting and be performing/performed a similar role.
The Barnard Medical Group is a dynamic, ever evolving practice with 3 GP Partners, 4 Associate GPs, 4 Practice Nurses, 1 Healthcare Assistant, 3 in house-Pharmacists, a Mental Health Practitioner, First Contact Physiotherapist, in addition to a large reception and administractive team.
Core Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with the nursing/multi-disciplinary team, seeking guidance when necessary.
- Undertake New Patient NHS Health Checks.
- Participate in annual Learning Disabilitiy Reviews.
- Participate in annual Mental Health Reviews.
- Participate in QOF/GP Premium recalls as requested.
- Undertake weight management reviews
- Carry out/record baseline observations such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, & pulse oximitery.
- Record height, weight & perform urine analysis.
- Undertake wound care and dressings that are non compression.
- Support the nursing team in the management of chronic diseases.
- Carry out ECG's as requested.
- Perform Venepunture in accordance with practice protocols.
- Ensure all clinical rooms are stocked and prepared for each session
- Act as a chaperone when requested.
- Perform removal of sutures and staples.
- Carry out urinalysis.
- Participate in practice audits i.e. Infection Control.
- Support and participate in shared learning with the practice.
