The inpatient units are designed to meet the holistic needs of service users/patients and carers, in a working environment conducive to staff development and wellbeing. The post holder supports the delivery of the inpatient hospital model providing leadership to professional and direct care staff.
The post holder will be responsible for the assessment, treatment, planning, delivery and evaluation of evidence based, highly specialised occupational therapy intervention within the areas Forensic Inpatient Unit based at Guild Lodge.
To support an effective journey for people admitted to inpatient unit and lead the occupational therapy pathway for service user’s from inpatients to a successful discharge back into the community.
This senior position requires achieving an appropriate balance between the provision of specialist occupational therapy and taking on shared roles that contribute to the efficient functioning of the team.
The post holder will have responsibilities for mentoring and supervising junior occupational therapy staff, where required, as well as providing regular fieldwork opportunities for occupational therapy students, and contribute to the learning of other team members or students from other disciplines.
