Liddard Decorators Ltd is looking for an experienced painter and decorator for an immediate start on an external residential project in Watford.
The work primarily involves the preparation and decoration of timber sash windows. Applicants must have proven sash-window experience and be capable of producing work to a high commercial standard.
Some windows cannot be accessed from ground level, so applicants must be comfortable working safely at height and from suitable access equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Preparing and decorating timber sash windows
- Scraping, sanding, filling and preparing defective timber surfaces
- Applying suitable primers, undercoats and finishing coats
- Achieving clean glass lines and a high-quality finish
- Ensuring windows remain operational after decoration
- Protecting surrounding surfaces and keeping work areas tidy
- Following site health and safety procedures
Requirements:
- Professional painting and decorating experience
- Proven experience with external timber sash windows
- Own tools and reliable transport
- Valid CSCS card
- CIS registered with a valid UTR
- Comfortable working at height
- Reliable, punctual and able to work as part of an organised team
IPAF, PASMA and previous commercial or residential-block experience would be advantageous.
Working hours:
Monday to Friday, generally 8:00am–4:00pm.
Immediate work is available, with the potential for regular ongoing work across Hertfordshire, Essex and London for the right person.
