Experienced Payroll Assistant
Location: East Kilbride
Salary: Depends on Experience
Hours: Full-time 37.5 Hours per week

We are looking for an experienced Payroll Processor to join our team. The successful candidate must have at least 2 years’ UK payroll experience and be confident handling CIS and CIS suffered.
Key Responsibilities
- Process weekly and/or monthly payroll accurately and on time.
- Calculate wages, overtime, bonuses, deductions, holiday pay and statutory payments.
- Process starters, leavers and employee changes.
- Manage PAYE, National Insurance and statutory payments.
- Handle CIS (Construction Industry Scheme) payments and deductions.
- Prepare and submit CIS monthly returns.
- Process and reconcile CIS suffered.
- Maintain accurate payroll, CIS and employee records.
- Complete pension auto-enrolment and statutory submissions.
- Reconcile payroll and investigate any discrepancies.
- Deal with employee, subcontractor and client payroll queries.
- Liaise with HMRC where required.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of payroll and financial information.
Essential Requirements
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in UK payroll processing.
- Strong knowledge of PAYE, National Insurance and UK payroll legislation.
- Practical experience with CIS and CIS suffered.
- Experience processing subcontractor payments and CIS deductions.
- Good understanding of HMRC payroll and CIS requirements.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work to strict payroll deadlines.
- Good Excel and computer skills.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
Preferred
- Experience using BrightPay is preferred.
- Previous experience within the construction industry.
