Job Summary
We are seeking a talented and experienced Chef to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a passion for food, and a commitment to delivering exceptional dining experiences. This role involves overseeing food preparation, supervising kitchen staff, and ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality are maintained. The Chef will play a vital part in creating innovative menus, maintaining GPs and fostering a positive, efficient kitchen environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise kitchen staff, ensuring smooth daily operations and maintaining high standards of food quality and presentation
- Oversee all aspects of food production, including preparation, cooking, and plating of dishes in accordance with established recipes and standards
- Manage food safety protocols, ensuring compliance with health regulations and cleanliness standards
- Develop new menu ideas and contribute to the planning of seasonal offerings
- Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and manage stock to minimise waste while maintaining freshness
- Train and mentor team members to enhance their culinary skills and promote a cohesive team environment
- Ensure efficient utilisation of kitchen equipment and resources to optimise productivity
- Maintain a welcoming atmosphere for guests by supporting serving staff when necessary and ensuring customer satisfaction
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a supervisory role within a professional kitchen environment
- Extensive background in food production, cooking, and food preparation techniques
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a diverse team
- Solid understanding of food safety standards and regulations
- Previous restaurant experience is highly desirable, along with hospitality industry knowledge
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively under pressure
- Passion for culinary arts with a creative approach to menu development
- Good communication skills to liaise effectively with team members and management
