Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Receptionist to join our team. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for pet owners and their beloved animals, providing exceptional customer service to our customers and furry friends while ensuring the smooth operation of our veterinary practice. We are looking for someone who can work effectively as part of a team and be a team player and solo working also .
Must be able to start as soon as possible.
Hours - Monday 9am - 7pm, Tuesday - Friday 3:00pm - 7pm
1 in 4 Saturdays 9am-1pm
Responsibilities
- Greet clients and their pets warmly upon arrival, creating a welcoming environment.
- Manage appointment scheduling and confirmations efficiently to optimise the clinic's workflow.
- Answer phone calls and respond to client inquiries with professionalism and empathy.
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure all information is up-to-date.
- Process payments and manage billing inquiries with accuracy.
- Assist veterinary staff with administrative tasks as needed, including laboratory coordination.
- Ensure the reception area is tidy and organised at all times, reflecting the professionalism of the practice.

Skills
- Previous experience in a veterinary or animal care environment is preferred but not essential.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a busy environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with clients and colleagues professionally.
- A compassionate attitude towards animals and their owners, demonstrating empathy in all interactions.
- Proficient in using computer systems for scheduling, record keeping, and billing processes preferred but not essential.
- Flexibility to cover staff holidays or sickness
