Company Overview
The HVAC Fabricator works as part of the HVAC Fabrication department team and is responsible for the completion of their allocated tasks on time and to specification. The primary function of the HVAC Fabricator is to carry out all HVAC Fabrication tasks associated with manufacturing. To this end, the HVAC Fabricator performs a variety of tasks including, but not limited to, working to project deadlines, working closely with other manufacturing departments and design engineers. HVAC Fabricators are expected to organise and manage tasks with little supervision.
The HVAC Fabricator is willing to undertake further education and training to develop and further their competency levels.
Occasionally, it may be necessary for the HVAC Fabricator to carry out some of their duties at client sites within the UK.
1. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
All activities are carried out in accordance with company policies, procedures and standards.
1.1. Manufacturing
· Correct interpretation of drawings, diagrams and route cards
· Correct completion of manufacturing records, route cards and testing records
· Accurately measure and mark out various types of sheet metals
· Achieve a reliable and acceptable standard of planning and completion of documentation at the first attempt
· Use of plant equipment (eg. press brake, guillotine, punch, notchers, etc.)
· Use of hand tools and power tools
· Sheet cutting and collection of scrap
· Use of TIG and spot welding
· Deburring of cut materials
· Cleaning of sheet metals (including acid cleaning and abrasion)
· Follow regulations based on relevant safety standards
· Assist in the training and instruction of apprentices and other work colleagues.
1.2. Other Duties
· Forklift operation
· Assembly work using various fastening types
· Insulation application
· Assist in packing of finished products
· General duties as delegated within the overall range of the post.
1.3. Health & Safety
· To comply with employee duties and responsibilities under health and safety legislation and comply with Company rules as detailed in various health and safety policies and procedures.
1.4. Driving
· This role may require driving on Company business.
2. JOB CONTEXT & KEY CHALLENGES
The job forms part of a team working in the Production HVAC Fabrication department reporting to the Works Foreman, carrying out a variety of complex tasks, which requires interpretation of mechanical drawings in line with regulatory and quality standards and high levels of physical strength and dexterity in handling materials.
Key contacts are within the HVAC Fabrication, projects engineering and manufacturing departments up to Works Foreman, Operations Manager and Project Manager level.
Key challenges include:

· Maintain awareness of current trends and developments within profession
· Generating ideas for improved work procedures
· Performing work in context of overall department and project priorities.
3. RISKS
Errors by the post-holder in carrying out this role will have short-term implications that are unlikely to have long-term consequences but may not be immediately identified by others. These implications could cause minor delays to projects or have some financial, legal or regulatory consequences.
4. KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE The job holder should normally hold as a minimum:
i. Regulated Qualification Framework (RQF) Level 2 Qualifications in English and Maths
ii. Regulated Qualification Framework (RQF) Level 2 Qualification in a Fabrication and Welding discipline
