Band 7 Clinical Psychologist (15 hrs per week)
To work as a clinician in child and adolescent psychological services at UCLH with specific responsibility for supporting inpatient and outpatient paediatric psychology services. The post holder will provide a specialist psychological assessment and treatment service across paediatrics. This is a fixed term temporary role.
The post holder will offer advice and consultation on clients’ psychological care to non-psychologist colleagues and to other, non-professional carers, working autonomously within professional guidelines and within the overall framework of the service’s policies and procedures.On the UCH site, there are acute and general paediatric services to the district in addition to specialist children’s and adolescent services (including adolescent medicine and cancer). This post is part of the multi-disciplinary child and adolescent psychological medicine service. The post holder will contribute to the systemic consultation service and a range of psychological therapies for in-patients and out-patients at UCH.
To provide specialist psychological assessments and treatment of children, young people, and their families, using individual, parent and family interviews, informal observation and formal developmental, psychometric and other assessment methods as appropriate.
The role is to provide specialist assessment and therapy with children and young people affected by a range of chronic health conditions. There will also be opportunities for group work, training and consultation to other professionals. We are not able to offer visits to the department however we welcome discussions with potential candidates.
