Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles and equipment to identify faults or maintenance needs
- Diagnose issues using schematics and mechanical knowledge, ensuring accurate repairs
- Perform repairs and maintenance using hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment
- Assemble, disassemble, and replace vehicle components as required
- Carry out welding tasks to repair or modify parts when necessary
- Maintain detailed records of all work performed for compliance and quality assurance
- Assist with routine maintenance tasks to prevent future issues
- Provide excellent customer service by explaining repairs and recommendations clearly to clients
- Undertake heavy lifting safely when handling parts or equipment during repairs
Experience
- Proven experience as a vehicle mechanic or technician, with a strong understanding of mechanical systems
- Familiarity with reading and interpreting schematics and technical manuals
- Competence in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and assembly techniques
- Experience in vehicle or equipment maintenance and repair is highly desirable
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
- Strong problem-solving skills with an eye for detail in diagnostics and repairs
- Excellent customer service skills to ensure client satisfaction and clear communication
