Job Description:
A new position has become available, and we are now looking to hire a motivated and experienced in-house structural engineer to provide expertise in the design, analysis, and inspection of building structures.
The ideal candidate must be a Chartered Engineer (CEng MIStructE), registered with the IStructE, with a minimum of 5 years' experience and ideally around 10. They will have a strong background in structural engineering principles and practices, with proven experience across residential housing as well as larger schemes, and will work closely with our architects and other engineers to ensure the integrity and safety of our projects.
The ideal candidate will have a degree in Civil/Structural Engineering, proficiency in structural analysis software, strong attention to detail, a commitment to quality and safety, and strong knowledge of Building Regulations, British Standards and Eurocodes.
As the role involves site inspections, the candidate must be able to travel to sites as required, on occasion further afield. A full UK driving licence is therefore required.
Key Responsibilities:
· Collaborate with architects to develop structural designs that meet project specifications.
· Perform structural analysis and calculations for various building components.
· Prepare detailed structural drawings and specifications, as well as structural design reports.
· Conduct site inspections to ensure compliance with design, safety, and quality standards.
· Identify and resolve structural design issues during the construction process.
· Provide technical guidance and support on a range of projects.
· Stay updated on industry trends, building regulations, and standards.
· Calculate loads and stresses on structural foundations, beams and walls.
Pay: From £60,000.00 per year
