About the Role:
We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Waste Collection Van Driver to join our team. This role involves driving a collection van on scheduled routes while also assisting with the loading and handling of waste materials. You will work as part of a small crew, alongside a dedicated driver’s mate, to ensure efficient and safe waste collection services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely operate a waste collection van on designated routes
- Assist with loading and unloading waste materials when required
- Work closely with your driver’s mate to complete collections efficiently
- Carry out daily vehicle checks and report any defects
- Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations at all times
- Provide a professional and courteous service to customers and the public
Requirements:
- Valid driving licence (appropriate category for van driving)
- Good level of physical fitness, as the role involves manual handling
- Strong teamwork skills and the ability to communicate effectively
- Reliable, punctual, and safety-conscious
- Previous experience in waste collection or a similar role is desirable but not essential
