Horticulturalist / Skilled Gardener

Beau Garden Studio is a small, design-led garden design and maintenance company based in Bristol. We are looking for a skilled and knowledgeable horticulturalist to join our growing team, assisting with planting projects, garden implementations, and the ongoing maintenance of private client gardens.
This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about plants, enjoys working outdoors, and takes pride in maintaining beautiful, well-managed gardens to a high standard.
The Role
You will be involved in a wide variety of horticultural and garden maintenance tasks, including:
- Planting and implementing new garden schemes. Eg. raised flower beds, vegetable patch planning, plant bed installation and maintenance.
- Pruning, deadheading, staking, and seasonal plant care
- Lawn care, edging, weeding, and general garden maintenance
- Monitoring plant health and identifying pests, diseases, or deficiencies
- Watering and irrigation management
- Supporting soft landscaping projects and garden improvements
- Maintaining tools, equipment, and work areas to a professional standard
- Working across a variety of private residential gardens throughout Bristol and surrounding areas
- Flexibility is a must, as the job varies day to day from working on solo projects and in wider maintenance and garden installation teams
There will also be opportunities to assist with hard landscaping tasks including:
- Raised beds
- Path edging
- Fencing
- Paving and garden structures
RequirementsEssential
- RHS Level 2 qualification (or equivalent horticultural knowledge and experience)
- Strong plant knowledge and understanding of seasonal growing cycles
- Confident with pruning techniques and general plant care
- Previous experience in horticulture, garden maintenance, or landscaping
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a small team
- Excellent attention to detail and a proactive attitude
- Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
- Full clean UK driving licence and confidence driving vans/light commercial vehicles
Desirable
- Experience implementing planting schemes
- Hard landscaping experience
- PA1/PA6 spraying certificates
- Additional horticultural qualifications or specialist plant knowledge

Pay: £120.00-£130.00 per day
