Job Summary
We are seeking a trainee Production Worker to join our small but hardworking and friendly team in a manufacturing environment. This position requires a commitment to quality and safety, as well as the ability to work collaboratively within a team. The role involves manufacturing wire rope slings so some heavy lifting is involved. The ideal candidate must hold a full clean driving license and, occasionally, be prepared to drive anywhere in the country at short notice. Initially 6 months temporary contract which for the right candidate could lead to a permanent position.
Responsibilities
- Operate machinery and equipment involved in the production of wire rope assemblies, ensuring optimal performance and safety.
- Manufacture assemblies with minimum errors ensuring correct lengths, labelling, specifications and quantities.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the work area, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Perform basic mathematical calculations for product measurements.
- Collaborate with team members to meet production targets and deadlines.
- Driving duties including last minute deliveries to customers anywhere in the UK and collections from Suppliers (this is occasionally).
Qualifications
- Previous experience is not essential.
- Basic mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor equipment issues effectively.
- Proficient in basic maths skills for accurate measurements and inventory control.
- Ability to work efficiently in a team-oriented environment while maintaining individual accountability.
- Excellent attention to detail with a focus on quality assurance.
- Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to changing production needs.
