About us
Allied Pharmacies is a growing group of community pharmacies, supported by a central office, our own warehouse and distribution operation, and StockIQ — the stock management and ordering platform we build in-house. Our branches dispense for thousands of patients every week, and they depend on technology that works: dispensing systems, ordering, barcode scanning, card terminals, and the platform that ties it all together.
The role
You will be the first point of contact for IT across the business — head office, the branch network, and StockIQ. No two days are the same: one morning you might be rebuilding a branch PC or fixing a label printer, the afternoon investigating why an order didn't reach a wholesaler, and the next day working with our development team to reproduce and document a StockIQ bug.
This is a genuine graduate role. You will be trained and supported, but you will also be trusted with real responsibility early — our branches cannot dispense safely without working IT, so what you do matters from day one.
What you'll do
Act as first-line support for office and branch staff by phone, email, and our ticketing system.
Set up, maintain, and fix branch hardware: PCs, label and A4 printers, barcode scanners, card terminals, and networking equipment.
Support the pharmacy dispensing system (ProScript) and its integrations with our ordering and stock platforms.
Triage StockIQ issues: gather evidence, reproduce problems, and escalate clearly to the development team.
Manage user accounts, permissions, and starter/leaver processes across our systems.
Keep asset registers and support documentation up to date.
Visit branches for installs, upgrades, and hands-on fixes.
What we're looking for
A degree in IT, computer science, or a related subject — or equivalent hands-on experience.
A methodical approach to troubleshooting: you narrow a problem down before you guess.
Clear, patient communication with non-technical colleagues under pressure.
Solid knowledge of Windows desktops and general networking basics.
Willingness to travel to branches (a full UK driving licence is a strong advantage).
Nice to have
Basic SQL, or any scripting or programming experience.
Experience with a ticketing/helpdesk system.
Familiarity with Microsoft 365 administration.
An interest in healthcare or pharmacy technology.
