Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Fire Stopper to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing fire-resistant barriers and ensuring compliance with safety standards across various building sites. Responsibilities
- Install fire stopping systems in accordance with technical specifications and safety regulations
- Read and interpret schematics, drawings, and technical plans to determine installation requirements
- Use a variety of hand tools and power tools to cut, shape, and install fire-resistant materials
- Collaborate with other trades such as roofing, plumbing, electrical, masonry, and carpentry teams to ensure seamless integration of fire stopping measures
- Perform inspections of completed work to ensure compliance with safety standards and building codes
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment at all times
- Assist in fabricating custom fire stopping components as needed using welding or fabrication techniques
Skills
- Proven experience in construction trades
- Proficiency with hand tools and power tools used in construction environments
- Ability to read schematics and technical drawings accurately
- Familiarity with safety standards related to fire protection systems
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team setting
