Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and experienced HGV Class 2 Driver to join our dynamic transportation team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for safely operating a Class 2 Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV) to deliver goods efficiently and reliably to various destinations. Your expertise in commercial driving, combined with a strong commitment to safety and customer service, will ensure smooth operations and satisfied clients. Duties
- Safely operate a Class 2 HGV vehicle, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Load, secure, and unload cargo, ensuring proper handling and compliance with safety standards
- Plan delivery routes effectively to meet schedules while optimizing fuel efficiency and time management
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to identify potential issues and maintain vehicle safety standards
- Complete accurate delivery documentation, logs, and reports for each trip
- Communicate professionally with dispatchers, clients, and team members regarding delivery status or any issues encountered
- Assist with loading and unloading cargo when necessary, ensuring proper handling of goods
Skills
- Proven experience as a commercial delivery driver.
- Valid HGV Class 2 driving license.
- Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices in commercial driving
- Excellent navigation skills with the ability to plan efficient routes
- Good physical fitness for loading/unloading tasks and long hours on the road
- Ability to follow detailed instructions accurately and work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with clients and team members
