About Us
The Governors are seeking to appoint a well organised, enthusiastic person to supervise classes when teachers are absent, and with the ability to lead small group interventions. The role also includes the following; acting as form tutor when required; administrative duties, which include the use of IT; support with exams; update and upkeep of display boards around the school.
Applicants must have excellent oral and written communication skills, with GCSEs in English and Maths, Microsoft Office/Excel experience. For further details, please see the Job Description. Experience of working within a school would be an advantage but not essential.
St Oscar Romero Catholic School is a successful, over-subscribed school, enjoying a strong reputation within the local and Catholic communities. There are currently 1150 students on roll and we have waiting lists in all year groups.
In April 2025 we were judged by Ofsted as ‘Outstanding' in all categories. The report was overwhelmingly positive about the school and stated “This is a highly aspirational school where pupils truly thrive”.
Our last Diocesan Section 48 Inspection took place in November 2025, which judged the school as “Outstanding” in every category. Both Outstanding judgements were proud moments in the school’s history.
We are a strong Catholic community, in which every member of staff contributes to the spiritual and moral life of the school. We believe in “learning together” and there is a great emphasis placed on relationships and respect within our community. We have an extremely strong code of conduct, standards of behaviour are outstanding and our students enjoy learning.

Salary: £27,254 to £28,598
