Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Maintenance Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving manufacturing equipment and on site facilities to a ensure safe, efficient, and reliable production facility. This role performs preventive maintenance, responds to equipment breakdowns, and works closely with production teams to minimize downtime.
Accountabilities
- Perform routine preventive maintenance on manufacturing equipment and machinery.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical and pneumatic issues and perform repairs as needed.
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and production emergencies.
- Inspect machinery and equipment to identify potential problems and recommend corrective actions.
- Install, modify, and maintain production equipment and facility systems.
- Read and interpret technical manuals.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and equipment history documentation.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and maintenance procedures.
- Use required personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, hard hats, and safety footwear.
- Conduct equipment inspections to identify unsafe conditions and report hazards immediately.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Use tools, machinery, and testing equipment safely and according to manufacturer specifications.
- Participate in safety meetings and training programs
- Report all accidents, injuries and near misses accordingly.
- Ensure all safety guards, interlocks, and protective devices are functioning properly after maintenance activities.
- Assist in root cause investigations related to equipment failures, incidents, and safety concerns.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce workplace risks and improve safety performance.
- Comply with environmental, health, and safety (EHS) regulations
- Assist with equipment upgrades, process improvements, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Coordinate with production team to schedule maintenance activities and minimize operational disruptions.
- Maintain tools, spare parts inventory, and maintenance supplies.
- Communicate with and coordinate external machinery engineers and contractors.
- Check the RAMS of on site contractors and ensure that adhere to the MS and safety requirements whilst on site.
Skills
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair industrial machinery.
- Electrical experience with troubleshooting electrical circuits and components.
- Technical certification, apprentice trained or relevant maintenance experience.
- Knowledge of mechanical, electrical and pneumatic systems.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- IT skills for machine diagnostics, maintenance management systems and record keeping.

Pay: £35,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
