TRAMPER DRIVER ! Monday to Friday
We are seeking a professional and reliable Truck Driver to join our logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of goods across various routes, ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining high standards of safety and customer service. Experience with curtain trailers and commercial driving is highly desirable, as is a background in delivery driving. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work within a dynamic transport environment, contributing to the smooth operation of our supply chain.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a curtain side lorry or other commercial vehicles to transport goods to designated locations
- Plan routes efficiently to meet delivery schedules and optimise fuel consumption
- Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with legal requirements
- Secure cargo properly to prevent damage during transit
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and vehicle maintenance reports
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery times and any unforeseen issues
- Adhere strictly to road safety regulations and company policies at all times
- Assist with loading and unloading cargo when necessary, ensuring proper handling procedures are followed
Requirements
- Valid UK driving license for at least 1 year, suitable for commercial vehicles, with a clean driving record
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or commercial driver, preferably with curtain trailers operation experience
- Knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices in commercial driving
- Ability to handle physically demanding tasks such as securing cargo and assisting with loading/unloading
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to plan routes efficiently
- Good communication skills for liaising with clients and team members
- Flexibility to work various shifts as required, sometimes including early mornings.
