Monday to Friday - 48 hours per week (day shift)
Job Purpose:
As a Class 2 Driver you will need to be professional, enthusiastic, and reliable; customer focused and maintain road safety and compliance at all times.
You should demonstrate exceptional customer service skills and be able to deal with an array of customers. When out on the road you are an ambassador for the company at all times and the face of the company, having that daily interaction with customers and building and maintaining long lasting relationships.
Manual handling activities such as, but not limited to, pushing, pulling, lifting and carrying will be required.
Principal Accountabilities:
· Manage deliveries of orders to customers according to route sheet / daily plan
· Responsible for checking the stock into the lorry at the time of loading and re picking for deliveries. Stock accuracy is key for customer service.
· Collect all monies required from customers particularly cash sales advised by the accounts or sales team. Adhere to money collection and storage procedure.
· Check that monies received are correct, based on invoice value or statement provided. Adhere to cash counting procedure.
· All required paperwork to be completed correctly and legible (fuel sheet/Fuel Receipts/defect book/returns book/Route Sheet/Cash reconciliation sheet).
· All Proof of deliveries (POD’s) must be signed. If customer unable to sign for goods you must providence evidence of delivery i.e. photo evidence of delivery by customer premises.
· All deliveries to be completed correctly, in case of any problem please inform the transport and sales team (this may at times involve waiting).
· Vehicles to be kept clean, tidy and in a roadworthy condition.
· All accident/damages/Near Misses to be reported immediately to the transport team. Adhere to Health & Safety, Near Miss, Accident procedure.
· Tachographs are a legal requirement and your responsibility to ensure that you are compliant as a driver, all driver digital cards to be downloaded on a weekly basis.
· No Returns to be accepted unless approved collection note has been provided and if customer is trying to return the stock from the same day delivery, then advise sales team before uplifting the stock.
· Any stock returned on your vehicle is your responsibility. Stock return forms must be completed correctly, any stock is to be returned to the Depot upon on completion of daily work. No stock should be left on the lorry.
· Any products collected must have correct paperwork and Depot must sign the collection note.
Education & Qualification:
Minimum 2 years HGV driving experience
· Clean HGV Class 2 licence
· Valid CPC training and Digital Tacho card
· Multi drop experience is preferable
KPI Bonus £5,200 per annum
