We are looking for a part time kitchen porter to support our breakfast service five days per week, Wednesday to Sunday.
Job Summary:
This is a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of a hotel kitchen. The primary responsibility is to maintain cleanliness, wash dishes and support kitchen staff as needed. This is a hands-on role that requires efficiency, teamwork, and a strong work ethic
Key Responsibilities:
- Cleaning & Hygiene:
- Wash and sanitize kitchen utensils, pots, pans, and dishes.
- Keep floors, surfaces, and kitchen equipment clean and tidy.
- Dispose of waste and recyclables properly.
- Follow food safety and hygiene regulations.
- Food Preparation Assistance:
- Help chefs with basic food prep, such as peeling, chopping, and portioning ingredients.
- Assist in stocking and organizing kitchen supplies.
- Kitchen Support:
- Ensure kitchen stations are properly stocked with necessary tools and ingredients.
- Assist with unloading and storing food deliveries.
- Report any maintenance or safety issues to the supervisor.
Skills & Qualifications:
- No formal qualifications required, but experience in a similar role is beneficial.
- Strong work ethic and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Good teamwork and communication skills.
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene (training may be provided).
- Ability to handle physical tasks such as lifting, standing for long periods, and working in a hot kitchen environment.
