Office Assistant – 15 hours per week
We’re looking for a brilliant Office Assistant to join us at The Alchemist Head Office in Handforth.
This is a varied role for someone who loves being organised, enjoys looking after people and takes pride in making sure everything runs smoothly behind the scenes. We’re hospitality at our heart, so you’ll need to make our office feel as welcoming as walking into one of our venues.
The role is 15 hours per week, working 3 hours per day, Monday to Friday.
What you’ll be doing
No two days will look exactly the same, but your responsibilities will include:
- Being a friendly first point of contact for the office, answering calls and directing enquiries to the right people.
- Managing incoming post, deliveries and general office correspondence.
- Keeping our office spaces looking and feeling great, including kitchens, meeting rooms and communal areas.
- Being the main point of contact for day-to-day communication from building management.
- Coordinating meeting rooms and arranging food, refreshments and anything else needed for meetings.
- Helping us bring our culture to life by supporting office events, celebrations and team activities.
- Managing office and venue orders through our Amazon account, including reconciliation and administration.
- Coordinating the allocation and distribution of charity prizes.
- Booking travel and accommodation for our venues when required.
- Managing the office credit card and associated administration.
- Preparing, packing and sending orders from our online shop.
- Keeping us stocked with the essentials – from stationery and office supplies to fruit, biscuits and refreshments.
- Generally being on hand to help keep our base organised, efficient and running smoothly.
About you

- Friendly and approachable – you’ll interact with lots of different people across the business and represent The Alchemist brilliantly.
- Proactive – you spot what needs doing and are happy to get stuck in.
- Flexible – you’re comfortable juggling different tasks and changing priorities.
- Independent – you’re confident managing your own workload and taking ownership of your responsibilities.
- Comfortable with technology – you can confidently use Microsoft Office and pick up straightforward admin systems.
- A team player – you’re happy to support wherever needed and enjoy being part of a busy, sociable Head Office team.
