Senior Service Engineer – Security Systems
Salary: Up to £45,000 basic (DOE) + Van or Car, Laptop, Phone & Tools
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time (40 hours per week)

About the Role
A respected and expanding fire and security company is seeking a Senior Service Engineer to join its growing team. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled engineer with strong technical expertise and a passion for providing outstanding service and support to clients across a variety of commercial and high-security environments.
In this role, you’ll be responsible for the maintenance, servicing, and fault-finding of electronic security systems, including CCTV, access control, and intruder alarms. You’ll take ownership of your sites, ensuring that systems are performing at their best while maintaining strong communication with clients and colleagues.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out maintenance, testing, and troubleshooting of security systems to ensure peak performance and compliance.
- Respond to reactive callouts and deliver planned preventive maintenance in line with contract agreements.
- Provide on-site technical support, offering clear and effective solutions to system faults.
- Produce detailed service reports and maintain accurate records.
- Collaborate with internal service and engineering teams to deliver an exceptional customer experience.
- Take part in the company’s on-call rota to provide out-of-hours support when required.
- Mentor and support junior engineers as part of the wider team’s development.
Skills & Experience
You’ll have a strong technical background in security systems and be confident diagnosing and resolving complex faults. You’ll also bring a proactive, customer-focused approach to your work.
- Proven experience maintaining and repairing CCTV, access control, and intruder alarm systems.
- Experience with enterprise-level systems such as LenelS2, Gallagher, or C-Cure is highly desirable.
- Good understanding of IP-based systems, networking, and related software.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Knowledge of industry standards such as BS EN 50131, PD6662, NCP 104, and NCP 109.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Relevant qualifications (NVQ, City & Guilds, BTEC, or 18th Edition) are advantageous but not essential.
Additional Requirements
- Full, clean UK driving licence.
- Right to work in the UK.
- Willingness to travel and stay away overnight when required.
- Must pass BS7858 vetting and an enhanced DBS check (SC clearance is beneficial).
