Marketing Assistant
Hours: Full Time - 40 Hours
Location: Wheathampstead, travel to homes when required
Salary: £30,000
Job Purpose
The Marketing Assistant provides hands-on marketing support to our care homes, helping to increase local awareness, strengthen community relationships, support occupancy, and ensure brand consistency. Working closely with Home Managers and the central Marketing Manager, the role delivers practical marketing support through social media, public relations, online reputation management, events and local engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Marketing and Digital Support
- Support homes in creating engaging content for social media platforms in line with brand guidelines.
- Assist with planning and promoting marketing campaigns and seasonal initiatives.
- Ensure homes have up-to-date marketing materials and merchandising.
Online Presence
- Support homes in maintaining accurate and engaging Google Business Profiles and Carehome.co.uk listings.
- Encourage and support the generation of positive online reviews from residents, relatives and visitors.
- Monitor online reputation and report to Head of Sales and Marketing.
- Help improve each home's online visibility and engagement.
Public Relations
- Identify positive stories from homes and prepare press releases for local media.
- Build relationships with local newspapers, community groups and other organisations.
- Promote events, fundraising activities, awards and resident achievements to increase local awareness working alongside Home Mangers and Activity Coordinators.
Community Engagement
- Support homes to develop and maintain relationships with local businesses, schools, charities and community organisations.
- Support homes in organising and promoting open days, community events and other marketing activities.

Person Specification
Essential
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong relationship-building and interpersonal skills.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel when required.
Desirable
- Experience in a marketing, communications or community engagement role.
- Preferred knowledge of social media platforms and content creation.
- Knowledge of Google Business Profiles, Carehome.co.uk and online reputation management.
- Experience using Canva or similar design software.
- Event planning or public relations experience.

The successful candidate will be creative, proactive and highly organised, with a genuine passion for telling positive stories and engaging local communities. They will be confident working independently while supporting multiple homes, demonstrate excellent attention to detail, and be committed to delivering high-quality, fast-paced marketing activity that reflects the organisation's values.
