Job Summary
We are seeking proactive and vigilant Fire Warden / Waking Watch Officers to ensure the safety and security of our premises. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining fire safety protocols, conducting regular patrols, and monitoring the building to prevent fire hazards. Your presence will help create a safe environment for all staff, visitors, and contractors, providing peace of mind through active oversight and quick response capabilities. Duties
- Conduct routine patrols of the premises to identify potential fire hazards or safety concerns
- Monitor fire alarm systems and ensure all safety equipment is operational and accessible
- Maintain a visible presence to deter unsafe practices and ensure compliance with fire safety procedures
- Respond promptly to any fire alarms or emergency situations, coordinating with emergency services as needed
- Keep detailed logs of patrols, incidents, and safety checks for record-keeping and reporting purposes
- Assist in the implementation and review of fire safety protocols and evacuation procedures
- Collaborate with building management on system design improvements to enhance fire safety measures
Skills
- Strong observational skills with a keen eye for detail when inspecting premises for hazards
- Ability to remain calm under pressure during emergency situations
- Good communication skills for clear reporting and coordination with emergency responders
- Prior experience in security or safety roles is advantageous but not essential
- Physical fitness to perform patrols and respond quickly in urgent scenarios
Pay: £12.71 per hour
