Early Years Teaching Assistant

We are looking for a kind, empathetic and proactive Early Years Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming SEND setting, supporting young children with additional needs to feel safe, confident and ready to learn.
This is so much more than simply supporting children in the classroom. It is about building trust, celebrating the little wins and being the person who helps a child believe that they can do something they once thought they couldn’t.
The Role
You will be supporting Early Years pupils with a range of SEND needs, helping them to engage with learning, develop their independence and enjoy their time at school.
You will work closely with the teaching team to provide consistent, nurturing support throughout the school day.
Your responsibilities may include:
· Supporting children with their learning, communication and development
· Providing 1:1 and small group support where needed
· Helping children to regulate their emotions and feel safe and settled
· Encouraging independence, confidence and positive relationships
· Supporting pupils with communication and social interaction
· Being proactive in identifying when a child needs additional support
· Celebrating progress – no matter how big or small
· Working closely with teachers and other professionals to ensure children receive the best possible support
· Creating a calm, positive and nurturing environment where every child can thrive
The person we’re looking for
Most importantly, we are looking for the person behind the experience.
You may already have experience working with children with SEND, or you may be an Early Years practitioner, Teaching Assistant, youth worker or someone with a genuine passion for helping children who need a little more support.

Qualifications & Requirements:
· Minimum qualifications required – A recognised Teaching Assistant qualification or a background in education or care (NVQ, CACHE, Degree or equivalent)
· Experience supporting children with SEND
· Passionate working with young children or adults with disabilities

Pay Rate: £14.60 - £16.90
Working Hours
Monday – Friday
8.30am – 3.30pm
Term-time only

Safeguarding children is an integral part of what we do and we have a stringent safer recruitment process. We undertake checks on all the candidates we work with. As such we require a current Enhanced DBS Disclosure for everyone working in Schools. If you do not have a subscription to the DBS Update Service, you may be required to complete a new DBS application as part of the registration process. If you take a temporary role with Sense Education you will be paid on a weekly basis. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position but long term. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
Pay: £14.60-£16.90 per hour
