We are a waste management service provider that partners with leading demolition and dismantling contractors serving the construction industry. We operate from a fully licensed waste transfer facility located in Walton-on-Thames where we co-ordinate numerous waste transfer movements through our fleet of vehicles. Job Description
We have a busy workload, often with multiple projects running simultaneously.
We are looking for a highly skilled, experienced and safety focused driver to join our organisation.
You will:
· Be driving roll-on/roll-off HGV to collect and transport waste & recovered materials from operated sites within the London area in a safe and efficient manner, in compliance with legal requirements and Company policy.
· Load and transport bulk waste & recovered materials from designated destinations in a safe and efficient manner.
· Drive Company vehicles in a safe and proper manner at all times having due regard for other road users.
· Ensure that all loads are fully secure prior to departure.
· Assist to maximise the loading of vehicles within legal limitations.
· Plan journeys to ensure fuel optimisation taking account of road congestion and other delaying factors.
· Drive the vehicles in such a manner as to optimise fuel consumption, brake, and tyre wear.
· Always ensure vehicles are maintained in a clean and safe state
· Driving and operating our Class 2 vehicles.
· Ensuring compliance with Health & Safety regulations.
· Delivering a high standard of service.
· Accurately record work completed and report any collections issues that may arise.
· The work will mainly be on roll-on/roll-off skips.
· Willingness to work overtime on occasions to ensure we meet our service obligations
Essential skills / experience required
· Category C / Class 2 licence as a minimum
· Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) card
· Digital Tachograph card
· Excellent knowledge of tachograph rules
· Minimum of 2 years experience driving in UK
· Preferred experience of working with roll-on/roll-off is desirable but not essential as training will be given where necessary.
