CY Turf and Fairways Sportsgrounds are looking for a reliable, practical and well-organised Delivery Driver / Yard & Plant Operative to join our team.
We specialise in the construction, installation and maintenance of sports surfaces and facilities throughout Scotland and the UK.
This is a varied, hands-on role supporting our site teams and helping manage the day-to-day organisation of our yard, plant, equipment and materials.
Main Duties
- Delivering and collecting plant, equipment and materials to and from sites and suppliers
- Driving company vehicles with trailers to transport plant and equipment
- Safely loading, securing and unloading plant and materials
- Organising and maintaining the company yard
- Controlling and tracking company assets, including plant, tools and equipment
- Preparing plant, tools and materials for upcoming projects
- Cleaning plant and equipment when it returns from site and making sure it is ready for its next use
- Keeping the yard, storage areas and company vehicles clean, tidy and organised
- Carrying out small repairs, basic maintenance and general handyman duties
- Identifying damaged plant or equipment and arranging/reporting repairs as required
- Assisting with stock and material control
- Supporting our contracts and site teams with day-to-day deliveries and logistical requirements
Essential Requirements
- Full UK driving licence – essential
- Must be confident and comfortable driving vehicles with trailers
- Practical and comfortable carrying out basic repairs and maintenance
- Reliable, punctual and well organised
- Able to work independently and use your own initiative
- Comfortable taking responsibility for company plant, tools and equipment
- Physically capable of carrying out a varied, hands-on role
- Good attitude and willingness to help wherever required
Experience within construction, plant, groundworks, landscaping, sports grounds or a similar environment would be advantageous but is not essential.
The Role
This is not simply a delivery driver position. We are looking for someone who will take ownership of the yard and help ensure our plant, tools, equipment and materials are organised, clean, maintained and ready for our site teams when required.
The role would suit someone who enjoys a varied working day, is practical and takes pride in keeping things organised and running smoothly.
