Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced, confident and hands-on Multi-Skilled Front of House Supervisor to join our team.
This is a varied role suited to someone who thrives in a busy hospitality environment and is happy to get involved wherever needed. You will help oversee the day-to-day running of Front of House, lead the team during shifts and ensure our guests receive a consistently high standard of service.
As a multi-skilled member of the team, you will be expected to work across different areas of the business, including restaurant and bar service, functions and events, reception and general hotel operations. No two shifts will necessarily look the same, so flexibility, initiative and a genuine willingness to get stuck in are essential.
You will work closely with management, the kitchen team and other departments to ensure the smooth running of the business while helping to create a welcoming, professional and enjoyable environment for both guests and staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and support the Front of House team during day-to-day service, ensuring shifts run smoothly and efficiently
- Lead by example, remaining hands-on and working alongside the team during busy periods
- Deliver consistently high standards of customer service and ensure guests receive a warm and professional welcome
- Oversee restaurant and bar service, ensuring service standards are maintained throughout each shift
- Assist with reception duties, including welcoming guests, handling enquiries, check-ins/check-outs and general guest assistance
- Support the delivery of functions, weddings, parties and other events, including setting up, service and ensuring events run smoothly
- Allocate duties and help organise the team effectively throughout each shift
- Handle guest queries, feedback and complaints confidently and professionally, escalating to management where appropriate
- Liaise closely with the kitchen and other departments to ensure efficient communication and service
- Assist with opening and closing procedures, cash handling and cashing up where required
- Ensure cleanliness, presentation, food hygiene and health & safety standards are maintained throughout Front of House areas
- Support the training and development of new and existing team members
- Monitor service standards and provide guidance and feedback to the team where necessary
- Assist management with the general day-to-day operation of the business
- Be willing to step into different areas of the operation when required
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience within hospitality, ideally within a hotel, restaurant, bar or similar environment
- Previous supervisory or team-leading experience is strongly preferred
- A genuinely multi-skilled approach and willingness to work across different areas of the business
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly, confident and professional manner
- Experience within restaurant and/or bar service
- Hotel reception experience would be advantageous, although training can be provided
- Experience working with functions, weddings or events would also be beneficial
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Confidence leading a team and making decisions during a busy shift
- Ability to remain calm, organised and approachable under pressure
- Good attention to detail and pride in maintaining high standards
- A proactive attitude – someone who notices what needs doing and gets on with it
- Good understanding of food hygiene, health & safety and responsible alcohol service
- Flexibility to work a varied rota, including weekdays, evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays
About the Role
This isn't a role for someone who wants to stand back and simply supervise. We are looking for somebody who will lead from the front, work alongside the team and be equally comfortable serving behind the bar, running a restaurant service, helping at reception or supporting a busy function.
In return, you'll become an important part of a varied hospitality operation where you can develop your supervisory and management experience while building skills across multiple areas of the business.
If you're passionate about hospitality, enjoy working with people and are looking for a role where every day can be different, we'd love to hear from you.
Pay: £26,000.00-£28,000.00 per year
