Role Overview
The Technical & Office Manager will play a pivotal leadership role in the day-to-day management of the Sales Office, Technical Processing, Capacity Planning and Aftersales functions. This role is suited to a commercially minded and technically capable fenestration professional who can lead teams, improve processes and ensure customers receive a premium service experience throughout the full order journey.
The successful candidate will ensure enquiries are converted into accurate quotations, orders are processed efficiently and correctly, production capacity is managed effectively, and customer issues are resolved promptly and professionally.
Key Responsibilities Sales Office & Order Processing
· Lead the day-to-day operation of the sales and technical office.
· Oversee quotation and order-processing activity from enquiry through to production release.
· Ensure quotations are accurate, commercially competitive and delivered within agreed timescales.
· Verify customer orders are technically correct and fully prepared for manufacture.
· Develop and implement systems and processes that improve efficiency, accuracy and customer experience.
· Monitor team performance and workflow to ensure service levels are consistently achieved.
Capacity Planning & Operational Coordination
· Manage production capacity planning in collaboration with the manufacturing team.
· Ensure order scheduling aligns with production capability and customer expectations.
· Identify capacity constraints proactively and implement solutions before service levels are affected.
· Improve operational visibility and planning accuracy as the business scales.
Technical Support & Product Expertise
· Act as the technical lead for customers and internal stakeholders.
· Review specifications and identify potential technical issues before manufacture.
· Ensure products are specified, quoted and processed accurately in line with company standards.
· Provide practical solutions and technical guidance to resolve customer queries.
· Support continuous product development and the creation of technical documentation.
Aftersales & Customer Experience
· Lead the aftersales function, ensuring customer issues are resolved promptly, professionally and effectively.
· Establish clear accountability and ownership for customer concerns.
· Analyse customer feedback, recurring issues and service metrics to identify improvement opportunities.
· Collaborate with production and technical teams to address root causes and reduce repeat issues.
· Deliver an exceptional customer experience throughout the entire customer journey.
Leadership & Team Development
· Lead, motivate and develop the office, processing and aftersales teams.
· Set clear objectives, KPIs and performance expectations.
· Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement and customer focus.
· Coach and support team members to maximise engagement and performance.
· Create a professional, positive and high-performing working environment.
Continuous Improvement
· Evaluate existing processes and identify opportunities to drive operational efficiencies.

Person Specification: Essential Experience & Skills
· Proven experience within the window, door or wider fenestration industry.
· Previous experience managing a sales office, processing department or technical office function.
· Strong technical knowledge of window and door products, specifications and manufacturing processes.
· Experience producing quotations and processing customer orders.
· Proven ability to manage workflow, production planning and delivery commitments.
· Strong customer service, communication and problem-solving skills.
· Experience leading, motivating and developing teams.
· Excellent organisational skills and strong attention to detail.
· Commercial awareness with a focus on operational performance and results.
Desirable Experience
· Experience using Window Designer or similar window and door design/configuration software.
· Experience within a premium, bespoke or high-end manufacturing environment.
· Experience managing an aftersales or customer service department.
· Experience delivering operational improvements and implementing new processes.
· Understanding of production constraints, installation requirements and manufacturing lead times.
