About the Role
The purpose of this role is to support the creation, improvement, and maintenance of high-quality outdoor landscapes and gardens by working as part of a team. The position contributes to the overall appearance, health, and functionality of grounds by carrying out a wide range of horticultural, landscaping, and maintenance tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out mowing, trimming, weeding, and other tasks to maintain high-quality outdoor spaces.
- Assist with constructing and installing landscape elements to enhance overall aesthetics.
- Dig, cultivate, and prepare soil to create optimal conditions for planting.
- Operate hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
- Plant, prune, and maintain a variety of vegetation to improve and preserve garden appearance.
- Use mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot, service, and repair equipment to keep operations running smoothly.
- Support the propagation of plants as well as the safe removal of unwanted vegetation.
- Assist with applying pest management treatments and plant nutrition programmes
Candidate Requirements
- Capable of meeting the physical demands of hard and soft landscaping work.
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
- A full UK driving licence is required.
- Previous landscaping experience is beneficial but not essential. Enthusiasm, a strong work ethic, and willingness to learn are key.
- General interest or basic knowledge of gardening — for example, a keen home gardener or someone who maintains an allotment. Formal experience is not required
- Proficiency with gardening equipment and the ability to maintain and service tools and machinery.
