Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Bank Care Assistant to join our dedicated team within a care home environment. This role offers flexible shifts to support the needs of our residents, providing essential care and companionship. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a caring attitude, and the ability to work effectively within a team. Previous experience in home care or care plans is advantageous but not essential, as full training will be provided. This paid position is suitable for individuals looking to gain valuable experience in the healthcare sector or seeking flexible work opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Provide personalised care to residents in accordance with their individual care plans
- Support residents with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and mobility assistance
- Assist with meal preparation and feeding when necessary
- Maintain accurate records of care provided using IT systems
- Communicate effectively with residents, colleagues, and family members to ensure high standards of care
- Support residents’ emotional well-being through companionship and engaging activities
- Follow health and safety protocols to ensure a safe environment for all
- Adapt to changing needs of residents and assist in emergency situations as required
Experience
- Previous experience in a care home, home care, or similar setting is desirable but not mandatory; full training will be provided
- Knowledge of care plans and ability to follow detailed instructions accurately
- Good IT skills for maintaining records and documentation
- Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Valid driving licence is advantageous for supporting residents’ outings or appointments but is not essential
- Ability to work flexibly across various shifts, including days and evenings as needed
