Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated SEN Learning Support Mentor to provide specialised assistance to children with special educational needs, including those with autism and disabilities. The successful candidate will work closely with pupils to support their learning, behaviour, and social development within a nurturing environment. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young learners requiring additional support.
Duties
- Assist teachers in delivering tailored educational programmes for pupils with special educational needs.
- Support children with autism and other disabilities during classroom activities and social interactions.
- Provide one-to-one or small group support to facilitate learning and behavioural development.
- Implement individualised learning plans under the guidance of teaching staff.
- Foster a positive, inclusive environment that encourages confidence and independence among pupils.
- Support with toddler care activities where applicable, ensuring safety and engagement.
- Communicate effectively with pupils, colleagues, and parents to promote understanding and progress.
- Monitor and record pupil progress, behaviour, and engagement levels regularly.
Requirements
- Experience working with individuals with autism, disabilities or in special education settings is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, colleagues, and parents.
- Compassionate approach with a genuine interest in supporting children's development.
- Ability to work flexibly within a team environment and adapt to individual pupil needs.
- Prior experience working with children or in toddler care is advantageous.
- Organised, patient, and committed to creating an inclusive learning environment.
- Relevant qualifications or training related to special education or child development are preferred but not essential.

Pay: £98.50-£120.00 per day
