We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Bookkeeper / Accountant to join our team and oversee the financial administration of the business.
The Role
Reporting directly to the Directors, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day accounting functions of the dealership, ensuring accurate financial records, timely reporting, and compliance with all relevant regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintaining accurate financial records and bookkeeping functions
- Processing purchase and sales invoices
- Managing accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Bank reconciliations and cash flow management
- Preparing and processing payroll
- Managing VAT returns and HMRC submissions
- Monitoring vehicle stock records and financial transactions
- Producing monthly management accounts and financial reports
- Assisting with budgeting and forecasting
- Liaising with external accountants, auditors, and finance providers
- Maintaining compliance with accounting standards and company procedures
- Supporting the management team with financial analysis and reporting
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles
- AAT qualified, part-qualified ACCA/CIMA, or equivalent (preferred)
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting
- Experience using accounting software such as Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, or similar
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Office applications
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
Previous experience within the motor trade or automotive sector would be advantageous but is not essential
Pay: £32,000.00-£38,000.00 per year
Work Location: In person
