About this opportunity
We are seeking a highly organised and detail-focused Exams and Compliance Officer to join the Cumbria Adult Learning Service. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role within a service that delivers Adult Skills Fund provision to around 6,000 adults each year across venues throughout the county.
The role will have operational responsibility for the coordination, administration and compliance of examinations and assessments across the service. This will entail managing the full examinations process, including registrations, timetabling, secure handling of materials, results processing and certification, ensuring all activity is carried out in line with JCQ regulations and awarding body requirements.
The role will also support the Management Information Systems (MIS) Manager by ensuring that learner data, assessment records and funding evidence are accurate, complete and audit ready. This includes contributing to the preparation and validation of the Individualised Learner Record (ILR) and maintaining robust audit trails in line with funding rules and regulatory requirements.
Working closely with colleagues at all levels, the role will provide guidance on examinations processes, compliance and data quality, helping to ensure consistency and high standards across the service.

The successful candidate will be a confident communicator, able to build effective working relationships with colleagues, awarding bodies and external partners. You will be proactive in identifying and resolving data issues and committed to supporting high standards of compliance and accuracy.
