Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Assistant to provide high-quality support to individuals within care homes and in their own homes. The successful candidate will play a vital role in assisting residents with daily activities, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. Responsibilities
- Assist residents with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Support individuals with mobility and daily routines, promoting independence where possible.
- Follow personalised care plans to meet each resident’s specific needs.
- Maintain accurate records of care provided and any changes in residents’ conditions.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members to ensure holistic care.
- Support with medication administration as directed by healthcare professionals.
- Assist with light domestic duties such as laundry and tidying personal spaces.
- Ensure a safe environment by adhering to health and safety protocols and reporting hazards promptly.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to residents, fostering a caring environment.
Requirements
- Previous experience working within a care home or home care setting is desirable but not essential; full training will be provided.
- Valid driving licence is advantageous for roles involving home visits.
- Good organisational skills to manage multiple residents’ needs efficiently.
- Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- Basic IT skills for maintaining accurate records and documentation.
- Compassionate nature with a genuine interest in caring for others.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team while also demonstrating independence when required.
