Rated ‘Good’ in all areas – 3-bed children’s home
At Footsteps, we believe in creating homes where children feel safe, supported, and valued. Guided by our values of trust, fairness, honesty, and support, we work together to make a real difference, whatever the weather, we stand united to protect, nurture, and invest in everyone under our umbrella.
We’re looking for an experienced and motivated Senior Residential Support Worker to join our close, supportive team in Macclesfield. Our home provides care for young people with complex and challenging needs, so we need someone who can lead by example, calm under pressure, confident in decision-making, and able to inspire those around them.
As a Senior, you’ll take on additional responsibility, including leading shifts, overseeing daily routines, supporting the team to deliver high-quality, therapeutic care, and ensuring consistent standards across the home. You’ll play a key role in mentoring colleagues, contributing to care plans, and maintaining a safe, nurturing environment where young people can flourish.
You’ll already hold your Level 3 qualification in Residential Childcare and will continue to be supported through personal development plans, regular supervision and appraisals, and targeted training. For those aspiring to progress further, there are opportunities to work towards higher qualifications and management development. We’re proud to see our team members grow from Residential Support Worker to management positions, because when you invest in Footsteps, we invest in you.
We’re also proud of our Dog Therapy Programme, which brings unique comfort, motivation, and joy to the young people we support. With the right safeguards in place, our therapy dog helps young people to build confidence, reduce anxiety, and develop essential life skills in calm, positive ways.
