Meet the person you’ll be supporting:
- What challenges do I have? I have autism and a learning disability, so routines and encouragement are very important to me. When I don't stick to my routines, I can present behaviours that challenge.
- What are my aspirations? I want to be more active and get out into my community more, i want to be more involved in my home based activities such as cooking my meals or cleaning- i have got lots better at these things with the help of my staff!
- What are my hobbies and interests? In my local area I like visiting the swimming pool, bowling alley, airport and safari park. I love spending time in the garden and on my trampoline, and have BBQs in the summer. I am very sensory and love water play and sensory balls. I love watching films in bed at night.
- How would I describe myself? I am an approachable person and will laugh with my staff. I can also get anxious quite quickly and this can escalate without my staff support. When I am having a good day, I am good fun to work with and have an active day.
- What type of person do I get on well with? I like people who have got lots of personality, and are strong characters. I can be challenging at times so I work best with people who can be resilient and can reassure me that they can keep me safe.
- Where do I live and what is my community like? I live in a house in Lowton, with parks, shops and cafe's nearby that I like to walk to.
My team
- How many people support me at one time? I have 4 staff supporting me at each time. My team have been supporting me for years, and would help introduce you to me, and support you with getting to know my routines.
- What shift patterns do my team do? 9am – 9pm, with the option for a sleepover shift as well.
