Part-Time Bakery Team Member
Position: Bakery Team Member – Part-Time
Working Days: Sunday to Thursday
Working Hours: 6:00 AM – 10:00 AM
Hours: 20 hours per week
About the Role
We are looking for a reliable, energetic and organised Bakery Team Member to join our early-morning production team.
This is a hands-on role focused on preparing our products fresh and ready for the day ahead. Your main responsibilities will include making and baking bread, preparing sandwiches and producing a variety of other baked goods.
You don't need to be an experienced baker, as training can be provided, but you must be comfortable working in a fast-paced kitchen environment, following recipes and processes accurately, and starting work at 6:00 AM consistently.
Main Responsibilities
- Prepare focaccia and other bread products for daily service.
- Prepare fresh sandwiches, including ingredients, fillings, sauces and garnishes.
- Produce a variety of baked goods according to the daily production plan.
- Follow recipes accurately, including weighing and measuring ingredients.
- Ensure products are prepared consistently in terms of quality, portion size, appearance and taste.
- Organise production efficiently to ensure products are ready before service.
- Check ingredients and preparation levels for the day.
- Maintain a clean, organised and hygienic workstation throughout the shift.
- Clean equipment, utensils and production areas after use.
- Follow food hygiene, allergen and food safety procedures at all times.
- Store, label and rotate ingredients correctly.
- Minimise food waste and report any stock shortages or quality issues.
- Work closely with the rest of the bakery and café team to ensure a smooth start to the day.
What We're Looking For
We are looking for someone who is:
- Reliable and punctual – the 6:00 AM start is an important part of this position.
- Comfortable working independently once fully trained.
- Organised and able to manage several preparation tasks efficiently.
- Able to follow recipes and instructions accurately.
- Consistent and attentive to detail.
- Comfortable working at a good pace during busy production periods.
- Passionate about good-quality food and presentation.
- Clean and organised in their way of working.
- A positive team member with a good attitude.
- Willing to learn and take responsibility for their work.
Previous experience in a bakery, café, kitchen, sandwich shop or food-production environment would be an advantage, but it is not essential for the right person.
Working Pattern
Sunday – Thursday
6:00 AM – 10:00 AM
20 hours per week
This position is particularly important to our morning operation, so applicants must be able to reliably attend early-morning shifts.
The Right Person
For us, attitude and personality are just as important as experience. We can teach you our recipes, products and processes, but we are looking for someone who naturally brings the right attitude to the team.
The right person will be:
- Reliable and dependable – someone we can trust to turn up on time and be ready to work.
- A great personality – positive, friendly, approachable and enjoyable to work with.
- A team player – someone who works well with others, communicates clearly and is always willing to help.
- Responsible – takes ownership of their work rather than waiting to be told what to do.
- Hard-working and energetic – comfortable with a busy early-morning production environment.
- Organised and attentive to detail – takes pride in producing food to a consistently high standard.
- Willing to learn – open to feedback and keen to improve.
- Respectful – treats colleagues, customers and the workplace with respect.
Previous bakery or kitchen experience is an advantage, but the right attitude, reliability and ability to work well as part of our team are more important to us.
