Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and energetic Support Worker to join our team. In this role, you will play a vital part in assisting service users with daily activities, promoting independence, and creating a positive environment where everyone feels valued and supported. Your enthusiasm and dedication will help make a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve.
Responsibilities
- Support individuals with learning disabilities and autism in participating in daily activities and routines
- Drive a minibus (9 seats) to access activities in the community.
- Provide mentoring and encouragement to promote confidence and independence
- Collaborate with team members to develop tailored activity plans that meet each person’s needs and goals
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment during all activities
- Document progress, incidents, and relevant observations accurately and promptly
- Promote positive communication and social interaction among service users
Skills
- Experience working with adults with learning disabilities or autism
- Strong mentoring skills with the ability to motivate and inspire others
- Knowledge of teaching techniques suitable for diverse needs and abilities
- Excellent communication skills, demonstrating patience, empathy, and active listening
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Flexibility to adapt to changing needs and support plans
- MUST HAVE A FULL CLEAN DRIVING LICENCE
