Duties
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to recipes and presentation standards
- Supervise and manage kitchen staff, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to food safety standards
- Oversee food production processes, maintaining consistency and quality across all menu items
- Lead food preparation activities, including ingredient selection, portioning, and plating
- Ensure all culinary operations comply with health and safety regulations
- Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area
- Assist in training new team members and fostering a collaborative team environment
- Serve as a role model in hospitality, providing excellent service to guests when required
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a professional kitchen environment, ideally within a restaurant or hospitality setting
- Supervising experience is highly desirable
- Strong skills in food preparation, cooking, and food safety practices
- Demonstrated leadership abilities with experience managing or supervising teams
- Knowledge of culinary techniques and current food trends
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Good communication skills and a customer-focused attitude
- Previous experience in food production, restaurant service, or similar roles is preferred
