The Northern Collective, an independent hospitality, retail & leisure group, operates Castleton Kitchen — a relaxed and welcoming food and drink hub located in the heart of the beautiful village of Castleton.
Based within the busy Castleton Visitor Centre, Castleton Kitchen serves great coffee and freshly prepared food throughout the day to a steady flow of walkers, families, tourists, and locals alike. With both eat-in and takeaway options available, the venue is designed to suit a high-footfall environment in one of the Peak District's most popular visitor destinations.
We are looking for a motivated, friendly, and reliable Front of House Team Member to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, takes pride in delivering exceptional customer service, and thrives as part of a supportive team.
The Role
- Welcome customers with a warm, friendly, and professional approach.
- Take food and drink orders accurately using the point-of-sale system.
- Prepare and serve hot and cold drinks, including barista-style coffees.
- Serve food efficiently while maintaining high presentation standards.
- Handle takeaway orders and ensure customers receive a quick and positive experience.
- Keep the café, seating areas, and service stations clean, organised, and well stocked throughout the day.
- Replenish displays, merchandise, and grab-and-go items as required.
- Process customer payments accurately and confidently.
- Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure smooth and efficient service during busy periods.
- Follow all food safety, hygiene, and health & safety procedures.
- Help create a welcoming atmosphere that encourages customers to return.
About You
- Previous experience in hospitality, cafés, restaurants, or retail is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided.
- A positive, friendly, and approachable attitude.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Confident working in a busy, fast-paced environment.
- Ability to multitask while maintaining attention to detail.
- A team player who is reliable, flexible, and willing to help wherever needed.
- Experience making coffee or operating a coffee machine is advantageous but not essential.
- Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and bank holidays.
