Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Window Fitter to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining windows across various residential projects within the South Tyneside Region.
The position involves working with a range of tools and materials, ensuring high standards of safety and quality are maintained throughout all tasks.
Monday to Friday: 08:00am start
37 hours per week.
£18.50 PAYE ONLY
Responsibilities
- Measure, cut, and fit windows accurately according to project specifications and schematics
- Remove old or damaged windows safely and efficiently
- Install new windows using hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques
- Ensure all fittings are secure, weatherproofed, and aligned correctly
- Collaborate with other trades such as roofing, carpentry, masonry, or electrical teams as required
- Follow health and safety regulations at all times during installation processes
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment to promote safety and efficiency
- Assist in the preparation of sites prior to installation, including surface preparation and scaffolding setup if necessary
Requirements
- Proven experience in window fitting or related construction roles such as roofing, carpentry, or masonry
- CSCS Card (Preferred)
- Full Clean UK Licence
- Knowledge of schematics, technical drawings, or construction plans
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment
- Ability to interpret technical instructions and work from schematics accurately
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
- Physical fitness to perform manual tasks including lifting heavy materials and working at heights if required
- Relevant construction qualifications or certifications are desirable but not essential
- A valid UK driving licence is preferred for site access flexibility.
