Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Hand/Cook to join our culinary team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with food preparation, cooking, and maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop culinary skills within a busy kitchen environment, supporting the delivery of quality meals to our customers. Prior kitchen or restaurant experience is preferred but not essential, as training will be provided for the right candidate.
Responsibilities
- Assist with food preparation and meal assembly in accordance with recipes and standards
- Cook dishes as directed by senior kitchen staff, ensuring consistency and quality
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including washing dishes and utensils
- Follow food safety protocols and hygiene standards at all times
- Support with stock rotation, inventory checks, and replenishing supplies
- Ensure all kitchen equipment is operated safely and correctly
- Assist in serving meals to customers when required
- Contribute to a positive team environment by collaborating effectively with colleagues
Experience
- Previous experience in a kitchen or restaurant setting is desirable but not mandatory; training will be provided for suitable candidates
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques and cooking methods
- Understanding of food safety standards and hygiene practices
- Experience in meal preparation and serving is advantageous
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Willingness to learn new skills and take on additional responsibilities as needed
Pay: £12.71-£14.31 per hour
